Leather conditioner removes seat color??

I switched products thinking I was going nuts. I am currently leathering my interior with mcguires leather condition. When I use it with a clean microfiber and work it into the leather, all is fine...when I work it in with whats called scuff away (sort of like a magic eraser without any chemicals on it) the color seems to come off some what. Don't know if its just the dirt and some of the color that has faded from the sun beating on it but find it weird that it doesn't do that when I use just the microfiber to work it in...any suggestions???

Mmmm...I'd worry about using any "magic eraser" type product on any leather.

Remember, the level of dye on any leather seating area is not that deep. I'd dump the "eraser," just use the Meguair's stuff with a microfiber, and see if you are OK with the results.

I've used the "Leatherique Twins" on my Terracotta seats, and I am happy with it. But, you need a warm, sunny day, or a well-heated garage to facilitate the process, as the interior needs to get fairly warm for things to work.

As winter is on the doorstep, maybe it is time to grin and bear it until spring.

Yeah, ditch the scuff away pads. BMW uses coated leather, water and a microfiber towel is all you need to clean it. Add a little wool-lite if you need some additional cleaning power. I protect my seats with 303 Aerospace Protectant.

I stopped using the eraser and just use the micro. It doesn't remove the dye. Just find it weird that it would even remove anything. using the same scrubbing force..even less with the eraser

Personal opinion : I would dump the Meguiars too, it makes the seats look way too shiny and greasy
