I didnt notice the low torque until a gas tank later in parking lots, traffic. Pretty soon my wheels started to break traction abit more than I'm used to.

From past dynos, the gain is 15 tq in low end and 10 hp

RPM of 4k & above is definitely more fun. I hope i can dyno soon

Its good that you have warranty, one 330i has said that his DISA actuators are in need of replacement...

And....., well almost nothing to report. I think that I've lost some of the growl from my PI, and maybe the above 4000 RPM acceleration is better - difficult to judge as the PI noise was less but the speed gain in 4th seemed faster. No difference in low end torque or throttle response - both have always been pretty good.

Will edit post with any changes that come along.

Nice! I've debated doing the same. May I ask, what was the final bill with installation?

Also, sorry to thread jack but where did you get your CDV delete?

I was afraid someone would ask. I paid just under $2000 total. (Does this put my sanity into question?) The CDV delete was done by my BMW dealer with no questions asked, and ..... at no cost. (They forgot to do it when I had the car in for routine service so picked up the cost for the inconvenience of me having to return.) I think it took them about 45 minutes.

Thats actually reasonable w/ warranty.
You save effort on finding used & having to clean it. Also used has a risk of bad DISA(and they can fail over time). The Disa replacement actuators could be 300 each at the dealer. Plus DIY install effort is 5-6h( repeat if you need to replace a bad Small Disa).

Given the relationship you have at your dealer, do you think your DME can be flashed with z4 3.0 SI or X5 software @ a low charge? or will you go the AA or Eurocharged route

The service manager did some investigating for me on both the manifold and the flash through his technical resources at BMW. Their response was disappointing, but not unexpected - no chance of a flash and the manifold should be OK. So, I'll likely go with the AA tune but not until next summer as I won't be putting enough driving time in during the winter for any software adapation.
One thing that I have noticed on cold starts (and maybe this will change as time goes on) is that the rough agressive sound of my PE during the first 45 seconds or so of warm up is now significantly softened, similar to what has happened to my PI sound.

Can someone help me out with which part # is actually a 3 stage manifold? I get the distinction between the 11617584524 and 11617584523 that are talked about in this thread. But which one is 11617584525? It comes on the 2011 528i which had 240hp and 230tq which is right in the middle of the x28i and x28is motors that use the previously mentioned part numbers. If it's not the 3 stage does anyone know how they gained 30tq/10hp in the last gen NA N52 motor?

the ##25 manifold features a heat sink and needs a new engine cover and heat sink with gaskets in addition to the standard disa adjusters

Its the most expensive option that seems to be designed for longetivity. I guess they tested that cylinder bank 2 and 4 get the most hot and need q heat sink.

I would avoid any manifold from 330i and 530i due to age. also the oil cooler will need to be removed from them.
Try to find a true n51 manifold or one from x3, x5
they are direct bolt ons.

Great info, thanks. I have a line on a #25 with both DISA valves for $350, so I may go this route if the heat sink isn't that expensive. I don't mind running without the cosmetic engine cover. I come from the motorcycle world, so I've never heard of a heat sink before. Any idea on the price or part number?

Any idea where the hp disparity between the #25 engines and the #23 ones lies? I'd hate to do the entire swap only to end up with just +10hp.

Well than you just have the wrong motorcycle, you should see the huge heat sink on my Triumph air-cooled twin engine

realoem diagram: http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...=11&fg=40&hl=1

Heat sink: 11617584527
http://store.bmw-mini-mania.com/part/11617584527 $200

Heast sink gaskets:11617584528 you need 2
http://store.bmw-mini-mania.com/part/11617584528 2x50=$100

depending on the manifold condition, you may need to chnage these gaskets at the connection of manifold to engine:11617547242
I didnt because mine looked okay, and its just air

Honestly I would get 11617559523 the regular disa manifold and buy an air intake upgrade for the $300 of extra cost, or even a tune from AA, Eruocharged,OE tuning etc

128i stock is ##24 manifold = 230hp
most cars with disa manfifold #23 = 255-265hp stock power ( true for MSV80 ecu/dme found in 2008+ cars)
##25 manifold is same engine, choked by software to offer low tq increase & less hp ( just look up any review on 2011 3.0 X3 with n52 vs the 2009-2010 3.0 X3

Is the 3 stage manifold conversion compatible with the stock software on the N52?

The car will run if that is your question. You are also local to me if you want a demo.
