I mean for a girl I guess that color would be pretty cute, but not for a guy who's trying to show off the IS350's power.

i don't know, i, of course, prefer E90 styling over IS350's styling, but the car (IS350) as a whole is not bad at all, in my opinion.

remember that both 330i and IS350 are in about the same price bracket so if people that go for Lexus were really self-concious when they see a 330i, they would simply go for the 330i, don't you think? they wouldn't get the damn car if they really didn't like it or didn't believe it is the best to them.

i chose a BMW and don't look back, so i'm sure they feel the same way about Lexus. while they were car-shopping, they probably tried a few different cars, just like us, and they liked the new IS the best. that doesn't mean that you have to think that.

so, what i'm trying to say is that Lexus or the G35 or the A4 are not necessarily bad/ugly cars, they just don't appeal to you.

In one of the mags, Road & Track or something along those lines, they raced a IS350 against a 330i. The track had a straightaway, and then a serpentine. The 255hp 330i had a faster time than the 305hp IS350. The reason? The electronic nanny killed the IS in the serpentine.

I know the link was posted on another thread, but this kinda sums up what I have to say.

Well and this

my feelings too. i just don't understand why people have to start thrreads on how people are envious of your new bmw and talk about owners of other cars in a condescending way. i happen to like the IS350 and obviously the e90 as well but some of you guys have to wake up and realize that your car is not the best thing ever and that not everyone out there is as self-conscious.

I really like IS350.... It's faster, more reliable, and looks just as good, but lack the steering feedback of the 3 series!!!!!

At this point we can make predictions about the reliability of both cars, but it's too early to state it as proven fact. The IS350 has Lexus' reputation for reliability behind it, but only time tells the whole story... which will most likely turn out to be that the IS350 is more reliable.

You might want to search for "330i magazine review".
There are about 900 magazine reviews where the bimmer came up top.

The IS300 was a threat. BMW realized this. Lexus also saw how well the IS300 did, and they over-done the new IS. If they put slightly less effort, IS350 would've been real serious. For now, 3 series is still the benchmark.

I looked into both aswell.. Lexus is dumb, the majority of these sport sedans sold are the IS250 and the 325i, and the 325i pisses all over the IS250...And the IS350...well lets just say it might be faster than a 3 series for a little while longer, but once the 335i is out there will be no comparison. Also Lexus has no coupe to compete with the 3 series coupe. This IS is turning out to be like the old one....A fad..

If you didn't pay attention to him, how would you know his actions? You talking about him being self-concious, I think you are the same also. Frankly, I think E90 and new IS are about the same styling-wise, but one is better-engineered and overall more balanced and the other one definitely faster and has better interior design. Both of these cars cost about the same, so he could easily buy E90 if he likes it, and obviously he doesn't.

If BMW needs to put a turbo to outperform a naturally aspirated engine, what makes it superior? You think Lexus couldn't put a turbo into their car? How do you know there will be no comparison if this particular car has not came out yet? What if IS350 is still faster than 335i? Why would Lexus make a low volume coupe if BMW doesn't sell 3-series coupe that well themselves? Talking about sales in the U.S., Lexus outsold BMW for how many years? Does BMW has a RX competitors?

well said...

I especially find it funny when 325i owners chime in here and bash the IS350 owner.

Like the guy couldn't have purchased a 325i instead. Get real.

Why do BMW have to beat their chests at every opportunity.

The IS300 was actually a miserable failure in terms of sales numbers.

But it was clear indication of showing how Lexus was stepping up in luxury sport sedan class.
IS300 even beat few e46s in magazine reviews(price was a big factor).

Many were still questioning the IS300. but now that they know well about the IS300, new IS is doing well. January sales of 2001(first when it came out) for IS was 1,475 units(and this wasn't bad at all. Lexus overall sales, were up 13.3%, best ever at the time). January sales of 2006 for IS is standing at 4,073, thats 276% increase.

What does this tell you? Lexus IS300 set enough background and good image to the market at the time, and now the new IS is kicking ass.
