Signup is through the Boston BMWCCA Chapter registration page. The event is closed since it is this weekend. You could e-mail Steve Hazard to ask if anybody has dropped out.

Now i am fully focused on this event. No more camber plate issues taking up many many cycles of brain power. I've got a helmet and an tire-air pump, plus some gloves, etc and some water (this event will be WATER - because we bought a million bottles of water when the Weston water main broke last weekend), but nothing else but my open mind ready to learn and get really fast.
Do we need to bring numbers or anything else special, pads and pencils? |

No real need for a pad or pencils. Numbers are not needed.

Having a little more gas in the tank than for a normal AX event would be good. Maybe a half tank.

a wet but fun first day...definitely learned some good stuff. i saw the benefits of looking ahead rise to a new level. still gotta work on those chicago boxes tho. i'm also coming to grips with the idea of setting up an entire element ahead, rather than just a couple cones
how did the rest of the 1ers make out? my group finished up late so everyone else had bounced by the time we wrapped up. i was hoping to find some of the usual suspects at the bar afterwards............. :

I ended up with a slightly swollen thumb. During one of my spins saturday morning, I managed to slam my thumb nail into the steering wheel, slightly separating my nail from the nail-bed.
How did Day 2 go??

day 2 of evo was a BLAST!!! i really learned a ton. baker and mike, you guys were definitely right....this was the day. phase 1 was good and i definitely had some good take-aways, but today made way more of a difference in my driving. really learned to read a course in terms of elements and key turns, instead of just one long set of cones.
also had a few quality drifts down on the long turnaround on the back end of the course....

I agree with Mike, Phase 2 was excellent. With all that we learned, by 2pm, it was the most fun i'd ever had in my 1er. Granted i've only been to one AX with it, but Phase 2's course was fast with a lot of tail hangin action and plenty of runs. I ate a king's feast when i got home and slept about 10 hours.

Day 2 was a fantastic day and it was great meeting everyone! BMWCCA and the guys at Evo did a fine job.
Even though I own a 335i (black coupe) I can't wait for the next autocross to see if I can keep up with you 135'ers.I really enjoyed watching the 135s flying around the course, and 135gofast had the best spinout of the day! I have already started budgeting money for camber plates, a Dinan oil cooler, CAI and software...just need to get a contract signed at work and it is something i really might consider - anything to make my car go faster now that I am learning how to drive it! I am not lettin 135gofast help me with the camber plate install though The blue Dinan 335 was a sweet ride too... |
