Second Track Day Event - On-board Video

Here's my second time doing a track day in the car. First lap I took easy.

Unfortunately, I was almost out of fuel by the end of this video (4th session); you can see the car stumbled a bit shifting to fourth, so that cut my day short since forgot to walk with spare E. I will be doing another track day again on the 20th at Homestead.

You looked smooth, steering wheel inputs where controlled not jerky or abrupt. Throttle input was good, although I did see a little early exit oversteer a couple time but I like the enthusiasm. Hand placement was really good and consistent, maybe you had an instructor earlier? Overall you really looked in control and had really good situational awareness of others around you, nice job. Oh, nice heal-toe action (true heal-toe), looks like you've worked quite hard on that.

My only note would be to reduce shifting mid corner.

You're faster than you think. Nice job!!

btw..love the Alpine with the Coral interior

Thanks a lot, feedback really appreciated.

No instructor, if I tell you where I refine and continue to work on my driving you won't believe

Did a lot of autox in other cars. But only second track day ever. First track day I went with an instructor. Didn't feel like I needed one again yet, so went solo.

You can always learn from an instructor. While for the most part I run solo. I will grab an instructor now and again. Sometimes they can show you something you're not seeing. Of course some car clubs you have to have an instructor to start. When I'm at a track that i have never driven before I always grab an instructor at least for 1 session. However we do prefer to run solo like you.

I completely agree with you; that's one of the reasons I record my runs. During the session following some advanced drivers I noticed their lines were different, so started making changes. Looking back at the vid I noticed it also, so I will be speaking with one of them when I run again on the 6th.

Hahahaha .. yeah thanks!

Truth is I built a cockpit for Sim-racing using my G25 and took part in the iRacing world championship series 3 years in a row. Unfortunately, it started taking up too much of my time so I had to quit for a while. Now I try my best to transfer the virtual knowledge gained to the real track and it's a lot of fun.

Another on-board video of my last track day at Homestead. Difference in the car this time is much better rear tires and EBC Yellow pads at the front. Lap timer says I picked up 9 secs.
