After months of researching, finally I have pull the trigger to plasti dip the wheels in Matt black. Used 2 cans of spray, and couple hours. But I'm very happy with the result!!

Next, I will plasti dip the front kidney grill!!

Looks like a job well done

How much did you end up paying per can and how many cans did you use?

$39.90 per can and used two only. Both two cans are still 20-30% remaining.

Glad you're happy with the result! I have titanium silver too, and I really can't work out if I'm crazy enough for it to seriously go for it. I keep flip-flopping. Hrmmm.... !

Woah that's pretty expensive for each can. But still, definitely cheaper than getting them powdercoated. If I'd known about plasti-dip before I had my wheels powdercoated I might have actually tried going down this path first.

It makes me cry that in the US they can buy each can for almost US$5.00... Yes five dollars...

Looks good though . Going to try gloss?

Yeah it is bloody expensive in Perth! I have went through every single possible way to source the plasti dip but the shipping cost is just gonna to kill me.

I have leave it as Matt first and see how it goes. I kinda like the Matt finish.

If anyone is looking on getting any plastidip, I stock it in my store, in QLD.
If you send me a PM with what you want, I can quote you up.

I have access to get both the 311g cans, aswell as the 3.78L buckets.

Pm me for prices if anyone is keen.

Thanks, Pete

Looks great.

How many coats did you do?

Did you leave the inside unsprayed?

Wow that's a really good finish you got... how long do you think they'll stay on for?

In the States they can last really long time, basically they will stay until you want to peel it off. But I will find out.

I wonder how this plastic dip paint will last with all the dirt grim and brake dust sitting on it?

I know for a fact some pastic can not stand any contamination or else they go sticky and rubs off gewy

Guys any thoughts on 208M double spoke wheels being sprayed this way (black) on a black E87?

I would love to give this a go, but I am not sure how it'll look. I was thinking as the spokes are wider, it wouldn't look as cool.

Also, matte black wheels on a black car, or does gloss look better (to you)?
Thoughts?

Did you tOok out the wheels then sprayed? I was just wondering how hard is it to cover the inside so the calipers and stuffs won't get sprayed.

No I didn't take the wheels off. I used plastic bag to cover the entire brake rotors and calipers. I jacked up the car as well for easy application

There's a video on youtube showing how to spray without taking wheels off
