Considering my wife and I are both students and this is our only car, not bad. Average estimate including loan, insurance, gas, maintenance, and mods: 23%

Maybe I should remember this math the next time somebody wants to assume I drive a 128i because that is what I can afford.

Same here, bought the car cash and spend about 2% on gas and insurance

I'm right at 10%, approx. $1000/mo for payment, gas, insurance etc. but I drive 35,000 miles/yr so gas is $400/month.

2% for me. Payment, Insurance, Gas and Maintenance.

Of course, this doesn't include the 10k that I spent in mods over the past 2 years.

When I was right out of college I spent a relatively high percentage of my income on my car too. But I lived at home and had no other expenses except my car and beer money so it was no big deal. Now I wouldn't think of spending even 20% of our income on cars and I don't even have kids.

I'm sure if you ask this question over in the 5 or 7-series forums you'll get differenrt answers.
Exactly, the correct question should be what percent of your "disposable" you are spending

18.15% Car + Insurance.

Up to an additional 6-7% (25% total) when including gas for one month.

I just moved to an apartment on campus, so I can project my gas expenses to decrease from here.
