Really though, if he put down 410 the result makes sense. even tuned and down pipes won't be quite to that level. Up top is where HP matters, down low good traction and torque can make a hell of a run at you. When you look at the evo and sti guys they all want to run down low. Find a guy with big HP and he's comfortable on the highway. Be safe out there....

I was just at a dyno day event on Saturday. This is a local shop that specializes in IZOD cars and other professional race cars.
I watched a new/newer 350z strap onto the dyno. It had all the "go loud" boltons, carbon fiber body parts, NO FI, etc. I'm not sure about the tune. They had definitely put some money into it. Peak HP: 288 After remembering this thread and a little push from my friend, I had mine strapped down. 08 135i AT JB4, FBO, stock mids and stock cat back, E85/93 mix, NO meth. Peak HP: 402 Peak Torque: 455 It definitely surprised the large crowd. Representing for the N54 Nation Oh and my friend dyno'd his stock 335i MT and put down 269 HP as his baseline on the same dyno. |

So... somehow in 9 days your co-worker spends 6k in mods and has enough time to have it shipped to him, scheduled enough time for a shop to install it all, and tune it, and race again?
Yea... I am not buying that story. But hey, it is the internet. People are always telling the truth. |

I don't have an issue with Mustangs, but I live in Southern Cali and they are everywhere here. Literally I think every 5 or 6 cars is a mustang haha

I have two things to say.
I have raced my buddy in his nismo 370z with sts rear mounted tubro and beat him multiple times. He just keeps making excuses. The first time we raced he said the car kept going into limp mode due to bad spark plugs. He had the spark plugs replaced and we raced again and again from various rolls, all with the same out come of him in my review. His next excuse was that my car isn't stock. Which I had my doubts about it being stock too since I am the second owner, but I confirmed it to be completely stock after getting it back from the dealer after a service from Classic BMW. The next thing I would like to comment on is why did this thread not get closed like mine did? http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=783496 |

I would guess that it was the detail that you started to bring into the thread. When someone says "I'm gonna run my buddy in his 350z" it could be at the track or on the autobahn, wherever. You mentioned a US highway by name.

As an owner of a 06 350Z trying to get out of it and into a 135 or 335, I can do nothing more than confirm most of what was said about the straight line stuff. I don't have any serious seat time in a 135i in any of the local twisty parts, but the Z isn't that bad in the turns. I was playing with a 135i on the North Texas Autobahn a few nights back, and yeah, he was a bit quicker than I.
I've always told people that if I hadn't have driven more than a handful of fast(ish) BMWs, I'd probably be madly in love with it and want nothing else. But having driven the fast(ish) BMWs I just know I like them better. I had a E46 325i with way too much dumped into it to be a little faster than a 330i ZHP, and I miss the hell out of that car. I don't think I'd miss the Z all that much once I got rid of it. Quote:

350z's with the HR motor (2007-2008) will make approx. 275 to the wheels with full bolt ons. 370z's will make approx 300-305.
As the owner of both a 370z and a ecu-tuned 135, the 370z is a bit faster than a stock 135 but simply cannot keep up with tuned 135. It's not a "bad" car, it just is what it is- a pure sports car with a naturally aspirated V-6. The n54/n55 has MUCH more room to grow than the VQ powerplant. That being said, the 370 is more grippy than the 1. It just has a wider stance with more room under the wheel wells- enough to run 305's in the rear and 275's in the front. Regardless, I like the 1 better. the 370 is up for sale. |

to the guy that beat a turbo 370z in his stock 135, i have a hard time believing the guy has a rear mounted turbo. Unless you've seen it, I wouldn't believe it. even 4 psi with full bolt ons and tune would be, i'd think, +80 hp over stock which should be plenty to pull a stock 135i even if it's a DCT car. a lot of people like to lie about their shit, more so in DFW as i've come to realize.

Tried uploading a video of his car but it didn't work. As you can see in the first picture with his car next to his brother GTR however, you can see the turbo.
