Correct 1M Orange Stitched Mat Numbers - Confusion Possibly Resolved?

I decided to make this a new thread because there are several mat threads and I wanted to put the latest info on top.

Back story- several of us posted the best deal to get 1M Orange Stitched floor mats after some confusion by fellow addicts. Some were told the mats were not available. Some received ///M mats without the orange stitching, etc. Several of us posted where to get the mats. I put this link to South County BMW in San Diego because it was a good price and they were good to me, unlike several other dealers:

http://www.shopbmwusa.com/ProductDet...CenterId=32467

It appears that several went ahead and placed orders and some were shipped out without the orange stitching. I still have not received mine because they were out of stock. I got a call from them today that they had a breakthrough. There has been some confusion between part number only made worse by the holidays. They told me they have the part number thing sorted out and the mats are coming in any day now.

While I was there, they have a set hanging in the back counter on display but with a hold tag on them. They told me it's for someone that got the wrong one in NY and these are being held for him so they can exchange them.

I tested their honesty a little bit for fun, but they held firm that these are for the guy that got the wrong set! : )

So the latest info on the mats is this. According to the parts people, there is an old part number and a new one. The new one IS available with orange stitching and there should be plenty of stock.

The good part number is: 82 11 0 038 875.

The bad/questionable part number is 82 11 2 293 541

So, they have told me that BMW is back online and they should fill all the orders in the following days but for now, we should treat this like like the MT-5 gearbox oil issue with extra caution. South County seems to have finally figured it out, but check what part number is being ordered by your dealer or online retailer. I hope this helps.

If the part you got has the orange stitch, then what they told me jives, but in the your pics I can't see the orange stitching.

Were orange stitched, correct?

Thanks for the clarifying, I want to get it right!

Beautiful, thanks for confirming. So that means we should get the right ones soon and that they are available.

Tried to check if they are available to order in Europe but none of the part numbers do seem to exist over here... :-(

They are indeed awful. I can't believe I paid $100+ USD for these. Yes, my 1M came with some M mats with black stitching but I'd say my '07 GTI came with better mats standard.

They are definitely not the quality you would expect from BMW but not sure if awful is correct. On the other positive side, they are not as heavy as my E46 mats which is nice to keep weight down. : )
