OT drove the 370z - keep the 135!

Hi,

I got my licence back on Friday and as some of you may know I switched from a Nissan 350z in to the 135. I was very keen to see how the 370z was in comparison to the 135 so took it out on Saturday.

Great car but you really miss the shove in the back that the twin turbo provides. It corners a lot flatter than the 135 and the steering is more responsive but the overall package is a long way from what the BMW offers I think. I found the engine noise to be far from exotic too. It is just a mechanical drone.

One thing I did love though is the automatic rev matching on the manual gear box. Yes, you can do the samewith a heel-toe but I have to say the slickness of this gadget was addictive. To have your revs matched perfectly on every down change makes for a very settled driving experience and the auto blip is very cool. I would have it on the 135 in a flash.

It was a relief for me because I love the look of it and was considering going back but really didn't want to have to cross another dealer spread. It's hard once you've been in such a well-built car for a year to go back to anything else.

Anyway. Good to be back on the road. Just have to curb my speeding now so will be heading out to the track as often as I can.

Cheers

I took one out for a test drive. I found it to be alot more raw/cheap, and I agree with the flatter corning.

but it should do, its a 2 persons sports car whereas the 135 is a performance coupe.

still good fun though

Possibly cruel, but why was the license lost in the first place?

Oh and thanks for your thoughts on the 370z. A strong competitor to the 135i. I feel better now.
