AUX and USB (armrest) stopped working!!!

Did the jb4 usb through firewall on the passenger side today and for some odd reason the AUX and USB do not work anymore...

Anyone got a clue what might have happened?

Isolated the issue to something to do with the car as I tested the AUX cables and USBs on various computers and equipment and all worked fine.

Next steps to take a better look at the damn fuse box for cigg lighter - pulled out the glovebox, scratched head at how the hell are my hands gonna fit in that area to pull out fuses! Will look again during the day.
Otherwise could there possibly be a connector that is loose in the ECU/DME box that is required to power the USB/AUX?

Are you saying that you ran the USB cable through the glove box and now the USB/aux under the arm rest isn't working?

Sounds like a coincidence as they are in 2 different locations.

I would pull out the USB/aux with some trim tools and make sure that it's still connected. It may be disconnected from underneath because it could have come loose.

Yep! Was wondering whether coincidence or related...
Will try pulling the trim apart

Further research, in this old thread
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=313925

"found out what the problem was. The fibre optic cable was accidentally disconnected under the dash on the passenger side when I was installinh my stereo. My fault. Took the car stereo shop 2 1/2 hour to find it. It's all good now. Thanks for the suggestion.
Now I can enjoy my sound system. "

Sounds like something could have come loose/disconnected when pulling off the carpet/glovebox panels to do the jb4 usb, so more hopeful in finding the issue now.

On a positive note, I discovered the USB in the glovebox during the process. Looks like possibility of:

Software updates http://www.bmw.com.au/com/en/owners/...re_update.html

and importing music on HDD!

When I had my dash apart for an electrical issue my USB, AUX and phone did not work and it was because the bluetooth antenna which is located under the glovebox was disconnected. Once I had connected that part it worked as it should.

This must be it! Fairly confident now...

Will have a look for this antenna tonight after work. Thanks!

It's right under the glovebox in the plastic footwell part which has the light and fibre optic diagnostic port.

Glad to hear it's all sorted. I had no idea about the Bluetooth antenna so it's good to know
