Can save you that hour labour charge, I put mine in myself and took about hour and a half.

If it were bolt on I would have no issue. I do not trust myself with cutting the task.

PE Bolts right on...cutting is easy if you measure carefully and mark the cut line with blue tape. I installed the PE on wife's 128i convertibe the day we got it home from the dealer - took about an hour. The PE muffler is an exact copy of the stock muffler, less the vacuum solenoid and flap mechanism - plus it has polished stainless tips. Measure the length of the stub pipe on the PE from the muffler body to the end of the pipe, then measure the same length out from the stock muffler. Cut the pipe there (I used a hacksaw), remove the stock muffler, slip the barrel clamp over the pipe forward of where you cut it, then hang the PE muffler from the same mount points. Slide the barrel clamp over where the muffler and pipe meet, tighten the clamp and you're done. Don't forget to push the vacuum hose onto the steel rod provided to seal it off.

I really like the sound of the PE - makes the car a lot of fun to drive, no drone at all.

yep my first mod was the PE exhaust and i still absolutely love it, makes me smile every time i drive it. Had a shop install it for 100 bucks or something since i had nothing to cut through the piping with. completely worth it.
