Sounds like his jobs are his life. The car appears to be merely transportation to and from his life.

I dont think anyone asks what engine size BMW you have when you say you have one. Just like many people buy the C class Merc to say they own a Benz...

Or the A or B Class...

On your first point, I guess that depends on when you divulge you have a BMW you say "I have a BMW 3 Series", or "I have a BMW 325/330i".

You see, here saying you have a 325 is not a bad thing, as it isn't the base model, but quite a well equipped one.

I dont think anyone in person ever goes out to say they have a 330i. If anyone does, I'll take it as bragging about the fact that they have a more expensive model, laugh at them and walk away.

Well, my status isn't that high, plus I dont think a 325XI with ZSP, ZPP, Nav is a cheap ride

I love being at my home, and I love being at my job. I always hated the commute between those two. The BMW solved that.

Not sure what the e90 will mean to me, but this is the kind of thing I'm hoping for.

I was born a car nut. I learned to read by leafing through pages of Road & Track and went to SCCA and CART races from even before then. I knew about apexes and heel-and-toe long before I ever sat behind a steering wheel. My first car was a Datsun 510, but always lusted for the more-expensive BMW 2002. The Datsun got me through school and into my early professional career. Fast forward a decade or so and as it's worked out, I've been a long-time VW driver (two generations of Passat and a Touareg). Now after many years of driving good cars, I'm ready to try a great one; my next car is likely going to be a 330i.

I've got a wife and two daughters, so the 'chick-magnet' thing isn't a problem. I love the windy road joy rides when I can take them, but primarly the car's getting through a long commute to work... so not 'just for fun' though I hope it makes some of my drive more fun than it's been. The 'status' thing is probably going to get me keyed (part of the BMW culture I'm not really ready for I guess)... Hopefully I can do my part to dispell the "all BMW drivers are pricks" thing by using my blinker and not cutting people off... The e90 will be more than just a car (a Honda would be more logical), but I won't go as far as to say 'it's my life,' either. I do look forward to having it be a part of my life, tho.

It's my life as in the sense, I spend a good portion of my time driving. Driving is my passion, E90 is bliss.

It shows that those school kids ARE special--to their well-to-do parents.
