Had a drag race from the lights today against a guy on a tricked Harley. He had one of those death's head masks on, all in black ( of course ), ape hangers and shotgun exhaust. I smoked him up to 140 on my speedo and then backed off. When he caught up he gave a nod. I felt good about that.

How old does this make me?

By your replies, it just shows that you are a immature 20 yr old..

Have some respect man.. and BTW, you received no respect from me at EC this week, you drive like a irresponsible 20 yr old, in a high performance car....

Lucky for you, your C63 is so forgiving to irrational driving.

Not sure if serious Joe? I don't think I did anything bad at EC? I thought 20yo in hp car at a track would be a good thing as I'm taking it off the streets. I don't think I even endangered anyone or caused any problems? This has put a bit of a dampener on my Sunday morning and has me concerned if you're serious.

So far as racing is concerned - it's not a regular thing for me. The Harley rider pulled up next to me on a wide, open and long stretch of 4 lane arterial road with a 30 metre dividing drainage ditch and no buildings alongside. He gave me a looking over and was gunning his shotguns ( as they do - "here I am everybody, can you hear me?" ) so I had a moment of excitement and raced him for about 250 mtrs then slowed back to legal speed. It was all over in 10 seconds.

Don't tell me that with a C63 you have never done a similar thing. If you admit to it then you are also an idiot, by your definition, and if you deny it you are a ????

My trade requires me to service menopausal ladies (I am a Mediterranean gigalo) so i know there characteristics well. Some posts here (or one) just come off like they are being typed away by the ladies that i service, which is slightly worrying as my extensive lurking period has made me believe that most of the members here are blokes. God forbid tiemyshoe or another twenty something posted a similar story to gazz...you ladies would be all over them.

IMO and a couple of the other " mature and experienced " drivers, that is how it came across..

I never said you endangered anyone else, but at your level of experience (and this is only my opinion, to put it in your words, " a 20yo in a hp car), you should have concentrated more on technique and less on your overtaking skills..

So don't get all upset, life is all about learning and taking constructive advice.. from us old guys..... Whether you want to take it in or ignore, is totally up to you.

I learnt a hell of lot more about my 1M on the day at EC and will continue to, the more I drive it and I am 52yr old, and have been around high performance cars since I was 16yrs old..

If you want we can meet up and talk.. I have no animosity towards you mate, like I said, its just my opinion..

Awesome.. Really enjoyed taking the 1M on the track.

Actually, I found it easier to take the 1M around EC, than the E92 M3, I drove at the track day four weeks earlier.. Just had more torque coming out of the twisties, and a lot more balanced IMO.

The car has that much torque, that I never took it out of 3rd gear, except on the straight went to 4th.

No heating or braking issues whats so ever..

reality; once you get into the workforce, age is nothing but a number. I consider people my fathers age a mate, and talk to them exactly the same as I would talk to someone my own age.

Asking the average age is such a teenagers question.

The point remains; we are all enthusiasts of the same car, and happy to share knowledge, experiences and tips with no reward, other than "paying it forward" (man, i feel like justin@advan using inverted comma's).

Age, age means nothing.
Fucking gold. Wife/gf perspective is spot on.

I'm not sure about the age not mattering in the workforce part though, depends on the workplace. I sure as hell know some 'senior' partners who have a very traditional view about the proper hierarchical structure and you can feel their attitude even if they call you 'mate'.

Otherwise I'm almost 18 and I'M SO EXCITED MY MUM BOUGHT ME A 135i. So nice of her to increase my pocket money so I can afford mods.

What was the procedure for overtaking at EC on the day anyway? At most track days it's on the straight only but here it seemed to be anywhere you could get past.

I've been to track events with SBC before and lap time wise he's always been right up there so he must be doing something right (and that was in his 2litre 4banger e90), he also snagged a podium finish at our e90post gokart day last year too.

Overtaking was allowed only on the straight, unless waved through with caution.. Not many stuck to that rule thou..

Mate, his lap times where up there aswel at EC.... But that really wasnt my point thou...
