I did it 2 weekends ago when I first got my 1M, took me 4h 55min and was a great drive.
Just depends if everyone's up for it. But imo if you're driving 1 hour plus to get there and another hour back, you want the bit in the middle to be worth it! |

Mate was up riding at the Reefton on Saturday, looks like we have a rally on the 14th. It's not necessarily a bad thing as if you line up form the Warburton side they will eventually release you through to Marysville, and there's no traffic, no police, and full use of the road as it's 1 way. Did it last year on the bike, was pretty cool!
The only issue is that you risk not being able to pass as I'm not sure that's the deal every year...I also don't believe it opens the other way. Lake Mountain will also be shut I assume. |

Well i'm open to suggestions. Any other fun routes?
We could do the GOR if doing an early morning start. I hear the road from Lorne to Apollo Bay has been redone and is billiard table smooth. |

Dang, would have been a nice one.
This could be a Great Ocean Road route: https://www.google.com.au/maps/dir/-...571674!1m0!3e0 Great ocean road to Cape Otway. This is best best road I have ever driven in Vic: https://www.google.com.au/maps/dir/-...6.9641844,7.5z Obviously a hell of a drive and doubtful people would want to do it on such short notice. But its such a brilliant drive and theres no traffic

I'm okay with the GOR route.
What do others think? What would be the meetup point? Somewhere in South Melbourne at 7am so that we can miss the traffic? That second drive I would love to do but its more an overnighter. Maybe the next one can be this :-D |

United petrol station just off the west gate in Port Melbourne. Saves us from having to manage a convoy in the city. https://www.google.com.au/maps/dir/U...-38.837389!3e0

Links broken in initial port, make sure you open the link and copy the full address, 1addicts shortens the links automatically. May as well copy the route picture as well

According to the website its only 'possible rain' and its less than 1mm of rain forecasted anyways. Should be mostly sunny otherwise.
Good chance to give my new tyres a workout
