Tire Options help

Hello good afternoon everyone. I was thinking about getting bigger tires on my stock 128i. I was wondering if anyone would know if i could fit 245/40/17 all around? Also i was wondering if my stock wheels/rims would be able to fit on a wider tire seeing as they fit on my stock 205/50/17. Also if you guys have any other suggestions on tire sizes i am open to them.
Thank you in advance to everyone.

245's will be massively too big for the 7" wide wheels. You can upgrade to a 225/45-17 without issue but that's the biggest tire i'd put on the stock wheels.

Thank You so much for the suggestion. Is there any tires that you recommend?

If you want some extra grip from wider tires, you can try to find someone selling a set of stock 135i rims

Tons of tires available in 225/45/17, it's a very popular size. Have a look at www.tirerack.com, it all depends on what you want to do and what kind of driving you do. Overall, I would stick with the top tier brands like Michelin, Bridgestone, Pirelli, Continental etc. If cost is an issue there are 2nd tier brands that are not bad at all like Hankook etc.

Tirerack has objective tire analsyis/tests, that will give you an idea on wet vs dry grip, road comfort and noise etc. Spend a bit of time there and you'll find a tire that fits your needs.

I have a GoodYear credit card with a $1200 limit so I would be buying tires from Just Tires and it seems like the only tire brands they sell are Good Year and Dunlop. Out of these two tires is there a certain model that you would recommend?

Dunlop Dirrezza DZ2
That's the only tire I would look at from those two companies.

If you have a sport model 128i then you already have 225-45/17's in the back.

225's need at least a 71/2" rim so maybe try to find some used stock rims in that size. IMO 245's are too much tire for the 128's power and I find a square 225 setup to be just about perfect. If your tire choice is limited to Goodyear and Dunlop, then the Dirrezza's mentioned above or the Goodyear F1 AS2 should work fine. Lots of info. on the Tire Rack site - tire tests, reviews, fitment recommendations.
