Photo comparison: Post-Sept. ZSP vs M-Sport Steering Wheel

I received my M-Sport steering wheel from Sweden today (ebay purchase), and took it out to my car for comparison. I know this has been elaborated on in the past, but perhaps not to the extent of comparing this with a post-Sept. ZSP steering wheel. Here is what I noticed:

- Both steering wheels are of the same overall diameter (see the behind the wheel photos)

- The M-Sport wheel is thicker (grip-wise) in the front-to-rear dimension.

- The M-Sport wheel has a softer, padded feel.

I had my receptionist hold the M-sport wheel for comparison:

No, it's in her job description. Must be willing to support all car-related activities. Heh.

Great! Here's one for the Pre-September Build. You will love the wheel! If you use your stock cover, it will not line up completely on the backside, are you planning on purchasing the cover to match?

I didn't know that, Danny. I'm glad I read your post. Yes, I am planning on getting the M-sport cover. I assume I can buy that at my local dealership, right?

You should be able to get the M-cover at your local dealer, if not, please let me know, I (& others, hehe) can get it for you!

Check out my DIY for the cover for additional info.

i retrofitted a e46 m sport wheel on my prev e46. the stock e46 wheel was a hideous 4 spoke- rectangular centre wheel. my wife and i enjoyed thoroughly the thick leather feel of the e46 m sport wheel
curently my sport e90 silver trim wheel looks similiar except that the rim is less thick. can u add silver trim on the m sport wheel. looks a bit plain -all black.
also do we need to change the airbag to fit the m short wheel. my dealership parts guy insists an airbag change is essential.

I'll need more pics of the receptionist, before I can decide about the wheel

Reminds me of that new game show with Howie Mandell, "Deal or No Deal." The game show has several beautiful models holding up briefcases with undisclosed dollar amounts contained within. I always wondered why do they need models to hold up this briefcases when they could simply have remotely operated mechanical panels? Answer: the game seems more interesting with a line-up with beautiful women.
