Just found this today: IS Tops the chart as being the hottest car right now (based on lot time to sell).

This is normal with new cars when supply is still weak, and demand high - therefore so many new cars are on the list:

IS, Civic, Cayman, Rav4, RR Sport etc

Also one factor is also a dealer policy - to have a low inventory (especially in the case of luxury car - it's a risk to have many expensive vehicles in the inventory).

The other factor is that supply is low due to limited production.

Many factors - and popularity / disirability is just one of them.

IS is a very good car. Much better than previous model. And it is hot at the moment - I'm eager to see what will happen when the initial hype calms down - in a year or two. Remember - the previous IS was also selling well right after the launch!

this is off topic but did anyone else notice that the 0-60 times claimed by Lexus for the IS and the times for the new Audi S4 are both 5.3 seconds.

I mean that would be impressive if the Lexus IS can take down a manual S4

3rd series must be #1 as most people pre-order and it stays in showroom for 1-2 days. Keeping in mind that it also partially pre-paid the number is -1 day.

Low showroom totals are always common for new cars. BMW also custom orders most of their cars, I'm guessing. I wonder if this is factored in.

Audi tends to be very, very conservative when it comes to the 0-60 time of their cars.

Isn't IS350 is 5.1 s? That is the number the most people bragging about at Lexus forums.

Or maybe they just dont count those since they have never sat on the showroom floor

Yeah those numbers could just be due to the dealers not carrying many of them. They could have one or two on the lot and then make everyone order them. I don't know, I haven't been to the Lexus dealer to look at one, but I doubt it would be like that at JM Lexus anyways, they probably have like 300.
