Is it because your soft top already showed signs of wear but no hole yet, and they didn't replace the soft top but only the spacers?

Nope..
When dealer installed roof replacement, I was told that original problem was due to this alignment issue, so with the NEW roof that they installed, they fitted the "spacers" as a safety measure..

Didn't work, they replaced the roof a second time, and even at the time I traded the car back to the dealer, you could see the wear/ rubbing issue returning..

That sucks!

Apparently, my dealership said BMW Canada does not have the TSB for the soft top defect issued by BMW North America, which applies to the US only. The service advisor said he would contact BMW Canada to see if they will do anything for me. Still waiting...
