How many tail light assemblies have you had replaced?

I have a 2008 135i with <2k miles (leftover on the lot). I had the left tail light go out after about 100 miles, now the right tail light has gone out.

Have any of you had a faulty tail light assembly replaced and had it go out again?

I've had 3 replacements in 22k miles. Supposedly the design flaw that was creating the problem is now fixed.

Just replaced my left assembly on Friday at 6600 miles. No telling how long it had been out. Just waiting for the other one to go now...

crap I too have had my left tail light assembly go out. I took it in to the dealer and they said it was a grounding problem and it still is acting up

Just noticed this morning that my tail light by the trunk is coming loose

... I did read somewhere on the forum where people have gotten this fix. Adding this to my list for my next appointment.... Anyone else experiencing this? What causes this to come off? Weak glue……

Mine went out a couple of weeks ago (right side). Just had it replaced with ~8k on the odometer.

Didn't know this was a problem...sheesh. There really are a lot of known issues with this car. Hope I don't see most of them. It'd be a shame as I really do love the car to bits.

Im almost at 15000 and am goin in for my first driverside tail light... funny I just say another 1er with the pass side out on my way to wrk today... probably doesnt know it because there is no warning light.

Are you guys referring to the entire functionality of the tail lights (brake, indicator and 3x LED row for driving lights) or just the LED lights?

I've just had my RH tail light go, but only the 3 rows of LED's. Just been checking the forums and it looks like a common issue with just the LED's going. Sheez.

lucky i haven't had any yet... but that's also cuz my car has been in the shop for about a month...after my accident... which will require the replacement of the tail lights.
