Tint and AM Reception

I have a 325i with window Tint, all windows legal within the state of Texas. Sorry but I do not know the percentage of tint. I realize certain conditions make the AM stations come in with a lot of static. But this car's AM stations are almost complete static where my Volvo, with an external antenna, has non. I am waiting for my 135i to be delivered and was wondering if window tint is a good thing. Does anyone else notice any different between internal antenna and tint compared to external antenna?

Metallic tint can affect GPS and AM/FM. Ceramic tint won't have this problem, but it costs more.

Glass antennae suck compared to external antennae, tint or no.

"Boy, my AM sounds like crap"

Don't 135s have an antenna on the rear fender like my 128i vert? If so, doesn't that mean it won't be affected by tint?

Vert only. No mast on the 135 coupes we've worked on.

Simple solution, go to a window tinting shop that will guarantee that their tint will not affect the AM reception. Most good shops know which tints will work best with rear window antennas. Second solution install the convertible antenna it works way way better than the window antenna.
