I've pulled mine out to clean them, but didn't look down underneath it, so I'm not sure what the tiny hole looks like. What about a shop vac and the crevice tool?

I have found that a small shop-vac works great. You can get them at Walmart for $25-30. The baskets dont have to be removed so there is no spillage of leafs,ect. Also works great on the interior to.

those just drain down to the bottom of the car. if they got stuck u can tell by pouring water down the vent...

I just put my vacuum cleaner hose in there to stuck the lot out if any fall in.

I do this once a month, can hear tickling noise everytime I vacuum.
