About the roads: I was thinking of curvy ones that make you actually do something with the steering, not sleep all the way... Not interested in land speed records as much as in quick transitions!

As for the tint, it may not have been clear but what I have is 50% for the rear window only, and 35% opacity for the sides (Meaning 65% of the light goes through). So it's relatively light.

Looks like that:

Looks good Wolf, I really like the light tint look. It's hard to tell because it's cloudy today but even the 50% looks pretty dark. I'm really glad I didn't go 35% all around.

Yeah, 35 all around would be too much in the front.

Okay, time to bring this thread back to the top.

I spoke to a lawyer last week about the tickets. Basically he said the chances of winning a stop sign ticket are very low, best bet is to delay it until I get some points back. They charge $100 to open the file, then $100 per demerit point saved or $100 everytime they sucessfully delay the court appearance.

He said ~80% of the time he can at least get a reduction on speeding tickets.

So I've contested the stop sign ticket for now. It should buy me a year even without the lawyers help... so I should get 5 back then add 3 which will put me at 6 points which is not bad at all.

In other news there was a massive speed trap right next to Jalbert this afternoon. I saw it from the highway so they didn't get me. These service road speed traps really piss me off. I need to get my sign out.

Tom, there is ALWAYS a speed trap either just before Jalbert or just up the road past Jalbert. BE VERY AFRAID around there!!!

Now for a more fun topic. I've been driving the piss out of my car lately to remember why it's so expensive....g*ddamn what a machine!!!

If they were good marketers they'd have a massive sign to put out up the street that warned of the speed trap up ahead "Courtesy of Jalbert BMW - come by and test drive the ultimate driving machine." That would be cool.

Sorry, I'm kind of hung up on this sign thing.... I just like the idea of completely fucking up one of their massive taxation speed traps. Having been nailed before... it's an issue near and dear to my heart.

Anyway, I hear ya Stew... I don't even want to know how much tread I've worn off the rear tires this winter! Time for the runflats to come out of storage for some punishment.

If the weather holds up, next week I will be fully rubberred as well and dangerous-I am really looking forward to test the lateral grip of the BStones.

Good corners for testing lateral grip:

- At the bottom of the 13 going east on the 20.
- Going from the bonnaventure expressway to the Champlain bridge (my personal favorite)

They are both wonderfully smooth and technically are highways (although the speed limit is 70 on both I think).

I completely agree with the 13/20. The best set up is the entrance ramp for the 13 from the 20 - it is amazing for grip/push, like a slingshot. I have done it with the Integra, (quite good, but tire grip is bad), the A4 (bad manners but hangs-in there bcs of the AWD - does not feel like its having any fun doing it though) and I look forward to doing it with my baby.

Another amazing grip-pad like place is the Decarie South exit for Sherbrooke-instead of actually going to Sherbrooke, take the left hander turn towards Cote St Antoine. Its a 180 turn with an off set in the second apex which requires a little steering correction, which also result in a slide if you're in too fast.

I like the bottom of Decarie veering towards the Ville Marie....I love tearing down there in 5th gear!

In 5th better stick to the left lane-there is pavement erosion in the right lane about 2/3 of the way through the turn which at higher speeds can make the car skip (not to mention mess with yout suspension and tires)

I think I have memorized every pothole to work and back.....

Speeding is always best in the left lane.

Wow what muscle memory....maybe you should be driving Indy Cars?

I think I need a trip to the Karting in Coteau du Lac!

Or a Hot Lap with Danica Patrick!

Yes indeed, she can teach us all how to blow away the competition without loosing our composure.

Now a carting event could be a good excuse to get the Montreal members (and Ottawa) of e90post together......

What does everyone think of Stew's idea ?
