Make this with "gunsmoke" vinyl or whatever else amber-gone colors are selling and it's just paying a lot less with only minimal extra work.

Thanks for this, I think it's pretty intuitive, but most people who buy amber-gones probably don't think to do this themselves (including me, I was thinking of them and just didn't realize it would be easier to just plain do it myself in whatever size I want) in a tasteful color that I like even if other people would think it's "tacky"..

BTW, i believe you can't bake the 1ser headlights to open them up and modify them, this was discussed in some other thread which I don't remember right now. Something about the sealant used..
Again it's all about personal preference, to me amber gones are expensive for two pieces of vinyl, I just went an extra step and "cut out" the vinyl myself which was way cheaper.

"Cheap" and "BMW" don't belong in the same sentence.

again, as I have said over and over again in this thread.... all up to personal preference. whatever floats your boat. this is basically the only option we have right now other than spending a couple thousand on the euro switch. and to me thats a couple thousand I could have spent on a down payment or something.

You're right. But I wish I was like those rich kids who's parents paid for everything and could spend money like it was nothing.

BTW, what does "/thread,forum, and the internet." mean? I didn't get it.

At work there's a manager with a 328i with some sort of silver ambergones. I don't know what color/etc they are exactly, but they blend in perfectly with the rest of the headlight unit until you get to within a few feet, then they still blend in nicely even though you can tell they're "extra." Wouldn't mind doing that using this DIY method if I could find the right color/reflectiveness vinyl..

I think it looks good.. nice DIY I think I am gonna try this...

The stupid ambergones I paid 40 bucks for only lasted 6 months then one fell off after some heavy rain...

What type of store could I buy a roll of CF wrap at?? (or do I have to get it online)

I think they look good in the last few pics. And it is exactly the same principal as ambergones. And how many COTM's had ambergones? So if you pay xxx dollars for it, it is a "mod" But if you DIY it's butchery? Whatever. Anyway, thanks for the DIY. Keep up the good work.

at first i thought they wouldnt look good at all but those last two pics you posted actually look pretty good and i'm sure 99% of people don't even notice it one way or the other, which is good cause the amber sticks out like a sore thumb.
i think the silver works good on your color combo but i'd def go with limo tint if it was a black car (what i'll be getting).

anyways, great write-up and don't worry bout the haters, enjoy your work and your ride.
