135i Rear Bumper Question...
Okay so I pulled the trigger and bought a 135i rear bumper (surprised?) I found a good deal for 235$ primed ready to paint. I have a couple questions to you guys about the bumper. The conflicting idea on this forum is that you cannot retrofit a 135i rear bumper onto a 128i without the new hardware, mounting plates, etc...
Check this out (Can128 - member) did the retrofit no problem using all 128i rear bumper hardware. No extra purchase necessary just the bumper cover + diffuser. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=519062 This is something I am thinking about doing. Does it sound okay if I follow the same footsteps as him and just pop it on with 128i hardware? Can128 said that there would be no problems what-so-ever! It is just straight plug and play. My question is that once I reuse the hardware and mount the bumper, how do I pop on the diffuser? Do I need special clips or does it already have clips on it and attaches to the bumper itself? And for those that had it painted... what are some quotes you got or paid for it? I was estimating anywhere between 200-350$ for paint. Does that sound right? Thanks guys!

I am not sure about the actual fitment. But the rear diffuser should just bolt up to the bumper w/10mm bolts. And as for the paint price, as long as there is no body work needed it should run you about $300 at least that is what I would charge. Hope this helps.

Thanks! Do those 10mm bolts go through holes in the bumper and the diffuser?

diffuser and bumper is separate thing.
diffuser have tabs, which click on to the bumper. nothing to worry about the diffuser, only 10min job diy. not sure on bumper, heard and seen different mount from 135i and 128i. there are Left and Right panels, $10-15 each from BMW. peace of mind, just get them. You can use your stock bolts no problem! good luck I painted my bumper for $200 flat. |

Found a bumper shop on Ebay selling the Aero bumper for the 135i I have been looking for about 4 months... It is about time I finally found one without PDC! Just have to keep an eye out. Check out "JJBumpers"

I'm going to ask Global Imports BMW and a place called Magnum Collision they do good work. If you know a place that paints well for a decent price let me know!
