Xenon high beam tricks

Have you noticed that for instant high beams, pulling the lever toward you, inner light(non-xenon) flashes. For permant(lever away from you) high beams, it uses xenon lights(outer light). I found it interesting

That is how every bi-xenon system works. The xenon bulb cannot be ignited for repeated short flashes, therefore, these flashes are performed by the halogen bulb in the inner lamp. For permanent high beam, a little reflector flap moves inside the xenon projector while the lamp is ignited.

In my South African spec car, when I pull the indicator stalk towards me the halogen light (inner, non-xenon) flashes. When I push it away the outer (xenon) light lifts up AND the inner halogen light comes on...very bright!

The xenons are so bright, I'd be interested to see if the halogens could add anything to the high beam party

Xenons are the best for road raging at night!!!

You should also be able to turn on your xenons for 30 sec's once the car is off. Just "flash" your lights using the stalk and they'll light up.

So you all are really impressed with the improved visibility with Xenons? That is a big deal for me, I live on a country road and seeing deer etc. is critical. On my old 2002s that I loved to storm around in the woods with I had a stack of driving lights that really sucked current. I never used it as an important factor justifying the 330 over the 325, but if I have to get them as an option (325) that puts the value of the 330 a notch up.

i have standard halogens. It just has a wider and more uniform pattern compared to my old e46. A little better perhaps.

Fairly ordinary but I had to be mindful of my budget at the time of ordering. I am not at all dissapointed by the way.

I live in a big, well lit city so xennons were not a priority this time. perhaps in my 2012 car (you know, the EXX), there may be even better than xennons as standard even. Here's hoping!!!

the Xenons in the country are friggin amazing, they throw a ton more light than any halogen setup I've seen and the high beams make it like daylight again.
