I did the same for about a month and now the new car smell is gone. If I were you I'd sniff twice harder before it runs out on you....

I love the smell of my leather interior and I am always having a good sniff. Also like the slightly different smell of the boot, smells a bit more powdery.

I know I am a freak... lol...

There is NOTHING better than a new car smell (especially if it's a BMW)

You are right and the smell is completely different to any other new car smell I have smelt before.

I didn't sniff my interior, but my neighbor's dog did. Does that count?

LOL - as long as it didn't think it smelt like another dog's butt.

The BMW smell is different than most other new cars, and I'm not sure why. But any new car smell is a good one! If you don't drive or park with your windows open, and don't smoke or eat in the car, etc. it will last a long time.

The new car smell in my car was a little too strong for me... On my ride home from the dealer I had to roll the windows down...

It sure will. When I sold my E46 330Ci, it still had "the smell" in it after 4 years of ownership.

This thread is amusing..... consider this- > BMW actually employs people and specially designed sniffer robots to smell out bad oders in the car and allergens. The materials are chosen because they lose there smell rapidly and do not cause breathing/allergy difficulties. A BMW new will smell a lot less than other manufacturers and for a much shorter time. They design this into the car. They even bake the materials in ovens to imitate a hot car during the summer.... and when the car is completely finished to first models are tested even more.....

Interesting stuff, I read this in the technology magazine.

I was wondering if this would actually work. I've been doing this, plus driving w/ 'recirculate' air activated, to prolong the smell.

I already don't notice the smell as much, but was wondering if it was just because I was getting used to it.

My new car smell is definitely gone after 3 months but I've been keeping it very clean.

I didn't get one of those scented things yet...Can anyone recommend something good?

Just get yourself one of those skinky cardboard pine trees and hang in from your inside mirror. You know they are available in about 10,000 scents for under a buck! ....Oh you don't like stinky pine trees? How about stinky cartoon characters? Tweety? Taz? Betty Boop? Marvin the Martian? ....
