Maybe they have a buyer for his car already.
Bluethooth is the best!

When that car leaves the lot it has lost $2000 in value immediately and that is not even counting the hit you take for trading it in -- easliy another $2000. I am not saying this guy is a liar. There could be some wild circumstances that make this scenario popular. David Lee Roth saw his car on the lot and said he must have it at any price!! I don't know. I am just saying this is hardly believable and no one in a similar boat should get their hopes up.

Come on guys, is the 330 *that* much more powerful than the 325? I can believe the argument that test driving a M3 after driving a 325 would definitely get you hooked, but realistically, the jump from 325 to 330 is simply not all that much of a difference. I too test drove the 325 & 330 (330 first) and felt that the power difference was slight. Most of that difference was felt during initial acceleration, but once you are in gears 3-5, the feeling was very, very similiar.
My $3.25.

There is no reason to BS this board....I hit the roof on the bluetooth upgrade costs. My salesperson orginally thought bluetooth was standard in all BMW's. It actaully is for almost all models except the 3 series and Z4's where it is optional. Anyway, I argued that had I known this, I would certainly have upgraded to the premium package at that time. To make me happy, the dealer gave me two choices:
1. Pay $500 on a $1500(list) extended maintenance to 6 years or 100K miles. 2. Upgrade to another BMW with my whole payment intact less 20 cents per mile that I have driven. I originally was going to take option #1, and switch to option number 2 after the test drive. Beleive me, they were encouraging me to take option #1. They think it's silly to spend $12K just to get the bluetooth upgrade. I played the game and called their bluff...they're prepping the car right now. I'll post pics this weekend to prove to you that this is not BS. Oh by the way, since I have alarm installed on my 325i, they are also installing an alarm on my new 330i at no cost to me....now that's what we call customer service at Sonnen BMW in Marin. The only thing that I can't get back was my window tinting costs of about $250. I also counter offered a $250 above invoice for the e90 coupe as soon as it comes out, but they will not even take it. They think that the E90 coupe will be so hot that they may actually sell it above MSRP. They are not willing to give that to me in writing! So I settled for the 330i and no more e90 coupe dreams for me! |

Cant we all just get along?
I respect that upgrade...but as a 330i owner...I also respect 325i's.....I drove both and the 325i was a great car...and unless you beat the @#$@ out of your car (which I do )...you really wont find a huge difference (in terms of power only...options is another story)... as for bluetooth...I just dont get it ...what wrong with a hands free kit? I did not get blootooth....and dont really care for it...can someone explain to me the big deal with bluetooth? know ipod integration is another story...whats the deal with BMW not doing a better job with that...having an auxi jack is ok but so freakin 1980's |

well i am in that position. I want to trade my 325 for a 330, but i'd lose outon ALOT of money, wasnt worth it in the end. I was thinking of really doing it, but when i read that id lose out $6K at the least, i couldnt do it (I do love my car, just mad at my salesman). So.. i guess thats cool you got a good deal. Dont really get it but .. hey... good for u.

Night vs. Day...
Congrats -- but what are you going to do when the 335i comes out?
And 12k seems like a lot, how did 5.5(330) + 2(pp) + 1.5(zsp) + 1(used&price increase)= 12? (taxes?) And what specifically did you find so much better about the 330i? Um, nothing. You should go out and do the same... |

I was in a E36 M3 when I stopped by the bmw store so both cars seemed slower. I really didn't think it was than much of a difference between the 2 cars. I was also looking for a commuter, but test drove a 330 to try the sport pack and must say the power didn't know my socks off in any way shape or form (so a 325 sits in the street in front of my house)

I drove Puck724's car (thanks mike lol) and i didnt notice a huge diff btwn the power. I noticed that the 330 had more of a growl. Yes i admit there was a slight difference, but nothing that was obvious lol. I want the 330 for the standard features that i had paid for on the 325, but as for power.. its not extreme.

I am also in the camp that says that if you are considering switching from a 325i to a 330i wait for the next bump in power to the 335i (or whatever it will be). I have followed BMW for a number of years and no matter what you buy and what year you buy they always entice you every 2 to 3 years to "move up" with new enhancements in power, facelifts, etc.
So no matter what car you buy a 330 or 325 in 1 or 2 years there will be a better faster car. Just enjoy your car, the incremental difference between the 2 is pretty small. If you are considering upgrading wait for at least a bigger incremental increase that is sure to come in a few years otherwise you will be kicking yourself in another 2 years. If money is no object then of course upgrade to the 550i |

I never try E90 325i, only 330i, but I ordered 325Xi, because 330i is not as fast as I think. If looking for horsepower and price, 330i plus $10k, you will get a M3 at 2007, almost double your horsepower.
