later facelift rear light cluster on a 2008 E88

Hey all, I have a 2008 E88,
Does anyone here know if the later twin LED rear light units from the 2011-2013 model are just plug and play or do they need coding?

Plug & Play. I did mine last week. Yiu can find lots of youtube videos on this too.

They DO need to be coded assuming your car does not have DRLs enabled. If I recall correctly the UK 1er's did have standard DRLs so you should be good. Unless 118i is too base a spec for it.
At least with my car it is not plug and play but I do have DRLs enabled...some how.

I’ve taken the dive and purchased them, fingers crossed, they’ll work, if not,,,, I’ll have to find a coder.
Anyone know a coder in the UK?

Kycs.uk but you will most likely not need to code for the tail lights
