Power surges and misfires. Valve cleaning to the rescue..
For some time now I have been fighting an issue with power surges on my car. I had replaced the plugs and the coils, and still had issues.
Took it to the dealer, and even though they could reproduce the problem, no codes were shown and therefore they claimed they coould not zero in on anything. I had suspected maybe HPFP or injectors. The tech suggested a valve cleaning, aka walnut blasting. Well this appears to have cleared the problem. Drove the car for about 200 miles and single misfire It is amazing how much stronger the engine pulls now. She feels like a young girl again. Evidently this issue with the valve carbon buildup in the N54 is a real power drainer. |

Do this every 30-40k as regular preventative maintenance and you will cut down on lots of problems. Just the nature of the beast.

They did the so called software fix previously. That worked for a few days and then the same thing begins again. Appears the techs are totally lost on this one.
