temporary loss of low-end freq audio

Strangely, I lost all low-end frequencies (bass) from my iDrive/Premium HiFi audio system the other night. I tried stopping and shutting the engine and turning it back on, but it wasn't until a long engine off state for it to return. Back to normal.

Anyone else experience this?
The music would play fine, just no bass. no other audio quirks to report.
Was the same for iPod and music on the hard drive collection.

Won't worry unless it happens again.

happened again the other day. anyone else experience this?

annoyed, i knew in order to resolve it, i'd have to let the car be in an engine-off state for 15 minutes. but being on the interstate, i didn't want to have to stop somewhere for that long.

so i find that if it happens with my windows down while driving, the low-frequencies will return when i roll the windows up.
WTF?

i also noticed that it can happen when my windows are up, and i tried rolling them down and then back up again, and the problem was temporarily solved again.

very strange. i guess i'm the only one with this problem?!

I started my car the other day and had no sound, CD player FM/AM nothing. I had power to the head unit, I could switch stations just no volume control. After a 15-20 minute shutdown with doors locked, I came back restarted and everything worked fine, very strange hasn't happened since.

Rodi, I know this is digging up a very old post, but I think I experienced this driving from SC-->ATL tonight. Did you ever find a resolution to this?
