Burning smell

The weather has been hot for the past few weeks or so. Everytime when I drive with my windows down I smell something burning, regardless of the distance or how hard or soft I drive. The smell begins as soon as I hit the ignition. Did a quick search through the forums and people mention the smell being the undercarriage protection and that it should away after few hundred kilometres. I am at 18000Km and the smell is still there. Oil is fine and the temperature gauge is where it should be. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your insight on this
