Dinan Stage 3 engine sound

I've had Dinan stage 2 for a year or so and I like it. I recently upgraded to stage 3 and now I'm not so happy. The power increase is barely noticeable.

The real problem is not the engine seems to make a lot more noise. It's like a constant whine and I can hear it changing gears all the time. Before stg 3 it hardly noticed it.

Does this seem normal? What can be making the noise?

When I raised the boost with my jb4, this whine became very noticeable. Even during low acceleration but that is just your turbos working I believe. You should be okay but in my honest opinion that tune is a rip off, I think stage 2 would of been more than enough for you. Stage 3 might be better if you have supporting mods.

Definitely not normal. No engine whiny noise here.

Bring it to a BMW dealership that is a Dinan dealer. Let them figure it out.

the most I get is some spool noise now and then. I'm running the stock charge pipe right now, though (have an extra sitting in the closet I came by)

Are you sure it doesn't come from the rear? I'm asking because my differential started making noise recently. I'm fairly certain that's because of the way I drive (spiritedly) vs. how the previous owner drove it. The extra power might have killed your diff.
