well new to the forums here so though i woudl introduce myself and post something up. I m sittign in iraq now and bought a 2009 bmw 135i montego blue black leaterette. Got a good deal and paid only 38000 due to being in the military wil pick it up in may when i go on r and r cant wait. Welcome man, Are you in Baumholder? Nice choice in color but I wouldn't do those rims on the 1.

Check the thread about the Montego with new wheels. The hyperblack CSLs look great. One of the problems you will now learn about is that offsets for our cars is pretty high so there are not a lot of wheels out there that fit (as opposed to say the 3 series). That's not say there aren't any wheels, just a limited range and even the CSLs aren't the perfect size (but can work with the right size/brand tire).
As for other mods, check the threads in each area (engine, suspension, etc.). I believe the general consensus is that some mods may be fine - changing you wheels to another, proper size wheel should have no impact on your warranty. Chipping your engine can, however, if it is not a BMW approved modification. The question will come down to whether an unapproved mod can be said to have had a negative effect (ie, placed more stress) on another OEM part or system that you are seeking to have repaired under warranty. If BMW can say the mod caused/contributed to the problem, then they could say it voided of the warranty (for that part or system).

I hope you get to be with you new bimmer soon, and wish you all the best returning stateside safe and sound. I have to say I wouldn't like your old rims on the 135. I am awaiting my space grey, I teetered back and forth on the montego blue or space grey for sometime. mit viel gluck
