Turner Motorsport 1 at Lime Rock

It's a 128 for some reason, but it looked pretty cool. There was a whole display at the foot of the bridge to the outfield.

Tazio - what's it cost to run at Lime Rock? Are there any restrictions that I should be aware of? Thanks. Z

No idea -- I was just there for the Grand Am weekend. I think there's some kind of Lime Rock VIP thing, otherwise it's club and SCCA. I know that there are noise restrictions of some sort. I'm sorry I can't be of more help.

http://www.scda1.com/schedule/

There's an event on August 13 for all levels. Price is $340.

I talked to Will Turner about a month ago about that 128i. I guess he was told that it would take too long for him to get a 135i, so he got the 128i. He mentioned something about 20" wheels.... and the pics of those wheels on the 128i (above) look enormous.

Nothing at all, why?

I think the OP said "It's a 128i for some reason" because you would probably expect a fairly high end BMW tuning shop to be showing a 135i.

You wouldn't expect a tuner to bring a 128 to a track - unless he's got some interesting tricks up his sleave, but still, starting with the twin turbo seems a heck of a lot easier than not.

He wasn't tracking that. He brought it for promotional reasons.

The Turner group is coming out to the Boston Chapter autocross, and Will Turner will probably even running one of his bimmers at the events. He's going to be bringing those same cars out to our events too.

I was at Lime Rock this past weekend too, I was happy to see some 1's there and yes even saw this white one. These cars are going to be HOT. BMW is not promoting them and in a way I am happy about that. I trust that soon VERY soon the car guys are going to find out about these factory Hot Rods and they will be all over the place!

While I hate posting in threads someone brought back from the dead....

Turner needs to setup this 128i and run it along side their 328i in the ST class
