161s on 330i

I'm planning on getting 161's 17x8 on all 4 corners and putting on 225/45R17 Dunlop M3s. Will this "9mm MORE clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will RETRACT 3mm" be fine for the rear wheels? Oh...i've got a 330i w/zsp.

Thanks.

This means your new wheels and tires in the back are going to be pushed in further from the outside edge of your fenders than your stock zsp setup, ugly IMHO, but for all seasons I guess that will be fine.

HRC is correct, they won't look ideal in the rear, but since they're for snow tires it's not a big deal.

I've got a set of 16" borbets on my 325 and the rears are really tucked, but it actually helps keep snow chuncks and winter debris from building up on the outside of the rear fenders...

Yeah...it'll be for snow. I didn't think that 3mm was be that noticeable.

Where are you going to find only 161 rears? Usually people who are selling 161's are selling them as an entire set (17x7.5 and 17x8). Just curious...

At bmwwheels. I'm not certain that these are what I'm getting. I just wanted to know if they'd work on my car. I'm looking for a cheaper alternative right now. And I thought they are in sets of 17x8 and 17x8.5

I have Dunlop WintrSprt M3 on my 161s.

My car came with the summer tires {Pirelli Euphoria} on the 161s
Front 225/45/17 -8" rim
Rear 250/40 /17 -8.5" rim
For the winter set up I put 225 /45/17's on all four corners.
Before doing this I verified with BMW , Dunlop and TireRack. All said this was fine. My dealer did the swap. It does not look perfect but works for winter.
Best of luck.

225/45-17 will work perfect with 8.5" wide wheels.
