Will 295/30/19 fit stock 1M rears?
Hi,
Will 295/30/19 tires be it PSS, AD08, R888 or others fit our 1m stock rear rims WITHOUT sacrificing handling?? (tire rack site says 295 will fit 10 to 11 inch rim) I would really like to hear back from guys running this size rears thanks. |

Yes I am running them but the back will rub on bumps if you don't roll that stupid little metal tab out of the way. 295/30R19 Pilot Super Sports
WAYyyy more grip. 1st gear sticks now and I can throttle out of sharper turns in 2nd without throwing the ass way out. |

Is everything else stock in your car? Suspension, wheels? Tire rack site says PSS 295/30R19s have a smaller overall diameter than the 265/35R19s; 26 to 26.3 respectively. I was hoping that they would fit with no need to any modification to a stock car (this is a future project for me when I finish my actual stock size PSS rears). And how is the rubbing at the front or are you still with stock fronts? I am considering if I could keep the fronts stock size while upgrading the rears to your actual choice.

The traction is ridiculous. If I could get camber plates and fit a 275/35R19 in the front I would be super happy! |

The reason I asked was because I read somewhere that 285 would be optimum for a 10 inch rim and that any wider than that the sidewalls wouldn't be supported sufficiently (would need a 1.5 inch rim).
D0o you have pics? Quote:

Which tab are you refering to? I've not looked very closely under there. If you can give me an approximation I'll take care of it on my car when its up on the lift. Thanks man! |

Yes, they fit as I am running 295/30 Toyo Proxes1 in the rear. Going to switch to R888 285's once I burn through these though!

And do you think the same sizes would work without an issue with the stock suspension as well (I thought maybe you tested them first with stock suspension so you may know it for sure)?

Did you already "cook" PSS? I thought these were supposed to hold up much better than stock PS2. How many miles/track days did it take you to cook?

My guess would be the main reason for more grip would be the better compound in PSS rather than increase width.

My current setup is Toyo Proxes1 255/35 front and 295/30 rear on 19's. I did briefly try these with the stock suspension and have some rubbing at full turn for the fronts. It is only when parking or in driveways, but still annoying. Oh well. My bad though, this is on my HRE P43S wheels and not the stock wheels. Not sure if they will fit the stock wheels, but I imagine they would. Maybe I'll have them switch around some wheel/tire combinations if they have some time to see how they fit. I guess the R888's that I will have to somehow fit will be 265/30 and 295/30 19's, which will be very tight. May have to run some camber adjustments. This will be interesting.

Even stock 245/35s get close to rubbing or do rub sometimes on some cars (not mine but almost) so no wonder that 255/35s rub cause they are bigger diameter (26 vs. 25.8) like all other 35 profile probable sizes (265 or 275). If you go 30 profile, like you did with the rears, then the problem with 255 or 265/30s will be having horrible wheel gap, but on the other hand, 275/30s should not have that. They will also fit with stock 9 inch wide wheels. I never heard anyone with that size but they have slightly smaller diameter than the 245/35 stocks (25.6 vs. 25.8). All these measurements I am borrowing from tire rack site for PSS by the way, but should be similar with any other brand tire since the same logic applies to all.
One thing I don't know if the front and rear (275 and 295 30s) will have too much tire falling out of the arches or will they still look decent. So, I am thinking that if 295/30 fits the rear without issues why not 275/30s at the front then? Wouldn't we have the max tire but keep a somewhat stock-wise balance? Of course, both turn in and traction would be on a different level. I would like to hear someone with the knowledge tell me such a crazy stupid idea it is while kindly explaining the reasons why

FWIW, you can get a 315/30-19 Hoosier A6 in the back of a 1M (BT, DT). No rubbing/contact even autocrossing. OEM spring perch height, wheels OEM size but with a 6MM offset.
