No DS sport mode, what should I try next?
So my 08 w/94k miles no longer would engage DS when moving the shifter left. Common issue, it's the purple and white wire breaking, etc...
I tear the console apart, isolate the wire loom, remove the black tape and 4/6 wires were broken. Viola! Found it. So I followed the instructions found online and spliced and heat shrink wrapped all connections. But... I start the car after all wires are reconnected and still no DS mode. I read people saying it could be a fuse, but what fuse? Can anyone help troubleshoot anything at this point? Paddle shifters work up and down but switches back into D mode as is designed to. Shifter itself will manually shift up and down as well but switches back to D mode as designed to. It's like it simply won't engage DS mode but all shifters, etc... work fine. Thanks in advance for any help. |

Problem solved.
The connections for the shift boot trim piece (one blue, one white on the underside) apparently must be plugged in for DS to engage. Literally a $3 fix (for a 10 pack of pack heat shrink wrap sleeves, only used 2 out of 10 in the pack) and a few hours to tear apart the console and put back together. $1,000+ at the dealer. Insane. Simply incredible. |
