Help with tire fitment
Hey guys I need some help with my tire selection. I've read a good number of posts on hear about tire sizes but want to get some opinions/reassurance for my particular set-up. I am looking for a solid, performance minded setup while avoiding any potential rubbing issues and do everything I can to get it right the first time. I'll post the wheel specs below. I would like to run 245/255 but I'm unsure how to determine the proper series. I'm a bit worried though that 245 is too aggressive in the front and should consider 235s instead. My car will be lowered 3/4"-1" on Dinan springs and I will be installing the M3 control arms. From what I have read the control arms should allow me to get -1 1/4 to -1 1/2 degrees of camber does that sound right? Will the little bit of added camber give me enough room to run the 245s in front with this setup? As for brand I would like to run Michelin PSS or PS2's. Please give me some advice on a good tire selection.
Wheel size Front: 18x8 ET=47 Rear: 18x8.5 ET=50 Thanks in advance for the help Wade

Those front wheels will be too close to the strut to fit a 245/35 tire without a spacer (245/40/18 is too tall). And even then you'd need more camber then what just the control arms allow. Honestly If you're dishing out control arm money, you should consider investing in actual camber plates instead. Much, much better mod.
235/40/18's in those two brands should fit without spacers and without the control arms. But there's a chance the PSS would need a 3-5mm spacer. 255/35/18 will fit fine on that wheels size as that rear wheel is with 2mm of the stock wheel. Between the two tires I would go with the PSS. |

I'd go 235/40fr and 255/35 rear with those wheels.
I'm currently set at -1.5degrees right and -1.7degrees left front camber. My front mods are like you mention so you should be in that range also.

8.0 +47 front with a 245 will most likely have issues on the inside more then the outside. I would stick with a 225 or 235.
8.5 +50 rears will be fine with a 255. You can throw on about a 12mm spacer for a more flush fitment if you would like. -Charles@VMRWheels

Well I guess the consensus is 235s! Thanks for the good feedback guys, I doubt I will be loosing much performance between 245s and 235s anyway....at least for normal road trips and the rare track day. Other than tirerack are there any other reputable websites to order tires from with good prices?

Yes, ha ha, you are wasting 1/2" on your wheel.
