Time to say goodbye to the 1.

With a heavy heart, I turned my 135 in today. This is the second 135 I've had since the first model year in 2008. Although, I went through 3 HPFPs in the N54, I still loved the car and leased another one in Oct. 2010. The N55 gave me NO problems in the 2.5 years. As the Jalopnik article stated, until you drive a 1, you don't realize how a great a car it really is.

But, because of all the offers from BMW and my dealership, it's still a happy day. I picked up a 2013 Mineral White M3. 6MT, competition, and carbon fiber roof. It really has been a dream of mine to own a M3. It truly is an amazing machine. And with production stopping in June, I feel lucky to own the last NA V8.

Thanks for everyone's help over the years and wish all 1 owners good luck and happy trails to a great car. I'm sure I will own another 1 series in the future!

Well, at least you kept it in the family...

It only bothers me when people give up their BMW's and pick up a Honda or Nissan.

Funny you should mention that: My brother bought a 2008 328i coupe from a Honda dealership.... $22K and only 17K miles on it.

Ouch! I hope its loaded. 2009's are going for 22k with similar mileage. I always try and buy a car from the dealer that will be servicing the car, they treat you better. I also like BMW's financing. You can spend a little more and get a CPO and qualify for their .9% financing. Because the interest rate is so low the payments are the same.

Not loaded, but it does have the Sport Package with nice BBS-like 18" wheels.

But it's an automatic.

Thanks, man. ESS tune and probably a new pulley to address the torque issue! It comes on a lot faster than you think. I probably shouldn't even gotten the upgraded stereo since all I do is listen to the exhaust note!

I didn't. LeMans blue. I'm not a big fan of white cars, but it looks beautiful on the M. It was almost impossible to find a manual with a CF roof.

No doubt about that. I did the reverse, had an E90 M3 DCT in 2009, and have the 135i MSport 6MT now (also had a 135i DCT), and can tell you the 135i is faster in town and off the light than the M3 was. It is all that torque down low in the N55 engine. On the hiway, different story tho as the M will run away and hide from the 135 (albeit at illegal speeds). Since most of my driving is urban or semi-urban, I actually prefer the car I now have.

But the M3 coupe w MT is an awesome car, and you will enyoy it, I'm sure. Happy driving.
