One year free Sirius is actually 9 months according to Sirius
How does my 1 year of free satellite radio service with the purchase of my car turn into 9 months of free service according to Sirius? I did buy a 2011 demo model but the radio was never activated. Sirius says I have to talk to BMW. Anyone have this issue?

They only said their records show nine months. I insisted that the radio came with 12 months free through BMW. Personally, I have gotten very poor service from Sirius in the past and this call was no exception. I called to add Internet service and that is how I found out that the service I activated for my car in March was good "free" for 9 months. Makes no sense to me at all.

I've had Sirius satellite service for about the last three years and recently had to contact their customer service about a reception issue with my receiver. The experience was a complete nightmare and they kept trying to sell me new hardware rather than trying to resolve an issue that they said affected "my local reception area." I'd recommend trying to resolve your issue through BMW if at all possible, as it is very difficult to navigate through the agents and supervisory structure at Sirius.

We let our free trial expire without renewal in my wife's 128i convertible. The factory radio is nearly impossible to navigate with polarized sunglasses as it is, let alone scrolling through a zillion stations of compressed music. The sound quality is so much better with a real CD or connected ipod running Apple Lossless files.
Spend the saved money on higher octane gas. |

Sirius is terrible IMO. Never had good customer service with them.

I ran into a similar situation with Sirius when I purchased my "new" 2009 at the beginning of 2011. A car that had never been titled, nor had the radio been programmed with Sirius, and they didn't want to honor the 1 year free service. Basically, told me to speak with BMW and work it out with them.
Frankly, I prefer hooking my Droid X in over the audio input under the armrest and listening to anything I want, anytime I want for free. I haven't been all that enamored with Sirius' programming anyways. |

You might want to contact BMWNA directly and let them know that Sirius is pulling this game with you. I would think Sirius would want to keep BMW customers happy with all things considered. |
