Greg BMW Clutch Driving School Videos

I like to share this Driving Tips from Greg's M5 Driving Videos, for e90s Manual Tranny Drivers who may like to add some skills to their driving styles.

Its always helpful to see how others do it, and not a reflection that e90s driver are lesser driver than their e39 Counterpart.

View and keep the ones you need and throw the others that seem useless.

http://www.e39m5.com/VideoDrivingTech.html

Now go out there and burn rubber!

Excellent post! I know these used to be posted on M5 board/Greg's own home page, but they've been down for years. Thanks for posting them.

I saw these before when I first started learning stick. He's good at explaining some of the stuff, but like you said, it's helpful after you actually know the basics. I viewed these again after a couple of months of driving manual, and I was like OHHH, THAT'S what he was talking about.

i just finished downloading all the videos and when i watched first couple of them, it was ok, but as i progressed down, is it just me or are all of them cut in half or something. he'd be in the middle of saying something and all of the sudden the video would end. especially the double clutching, the video literally ends in the middle of his word when he finishes talking about the theory behind it.

is it supposed to be like this?

Learning clutch work prior would have been pointless in that M5.

That was on Moscow's Beltway. There are a good amount of filthy rich bastards that go out and do this shit. The street racing there is usually around 4 or 5 am where they rip around the center of the city.

Some 50 year old prick tried to fuck with me on his S4 while I was driving the GT Continental....I laughed...and then left him.

Shim, you can't see a thing of what he is doing. And what you see is 'nothing', just accelerating and taking bends slowly. No problems, but you cannot 'learn' anything from this vid imho.

JUST DO IT, trail and error

Some time ago we had a trackday on the Assen MotoGP track. (E46 M3)Accelerating out of the 'Geert Timmer bend' through start finish I was braking late for righthander 'Nationale Bocht'(2 or 3rd gear) from 180kmh(115mph) to 80kmh(50mph)

I let the clutch come 'too fast' and I had 'shiftlock' locking the rearwheels @ 120kmh(75mph) (my bad )

I slided into that bend with some smoke and made it totally sideways through that bend like I was Colin McRea ). Great fun. Some guys have it on tape dunno where.

So this Greg is right in saying the things about declutching, but he doesn't show it. The camera is hanging there, he should fix the camera between his legs so to speak LOL
