order the euro-spec xenons from BMW....if I remember correctly they are about $1200 a piece, plus they ship from europe so shipping charges apply as well.

You can buy the OEM European headlight housings without the amber from any dealer, but it'll cost a lot.. like a grand..
There's also a couple other options such as body painted headlight reflector covers: http://www.bimmian.com/82/HRC/ Or Vitex Ambergone vinyl overlays: http://www.**********s.com/_e/E82_Ex...2_E87_E88_.htm

Yeah I think the euro-xenons are what I was looking for but I am not gonna spend that to get rid of a piece of orange. The Ambergone doesn't seem to make much of a difference and the covers don't look that good, maybe Ambergone in "clear" or whatever will work.

Didn't someone post the part numbers to silver turn signal bulbs he got from a BMW dealer. I thought I saw that last week. The bulbs were kind of pricey at $22 each. But they look silver when they are off. Yellow when they are on.
IF I remember right... the OP got the part numbers from the e90 group. ??? |

I've bought chrome plated amber bulbs for other cars and work nicely haven't yet researched them for E82 but sounds like there was a recent post about it. Totally legal, relatively cheap and looks good.

The bulbs I remember seeing had a module(large square black plug socket) at the base of the bulb. They were basically just silver bulbs... but came from BMW in a BMW box. I think the OP was from the UK. ???

Here you go, N54galore: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=441722
I don't see why anyone would lie about having an m3 if they had a nice car to begin with. That's like calling your base Carrera a 911 turbo. On topic: How much of the amber color in the headlight is accounted for by the bulb itself? I don't think I've seen pics of a 1 with these chrome plated bulbs vs. stock. edit: "Darth Maul" m3 Mystery solved. How lame. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=441947 Last edited by woner; 10-12-2010 at 06:52 PM.. |
