Canadian 135i Release Date

My car has finally arrived in Canada. Landed in Halifax on Feb. 15th via the Boheme. I'm not exactly sure where the VPC is or how long it spends there, but my dealer said the car should arrive in Calgary around the 29th of Feb via CN rail.

Many of our American friends have been posting that they will not be able to take possession of their cars until Mar 22nd which is the car's official release date. I asked my dealer about that, and he didn't know anything about that and said he would look into it. As usual, he's taking his sweet time to get back to me.

Have any of you fellow Canadians been told anything about the Canadian released date? Is it the same as in the States on March 22nd?

Sorry haven't heard any confirmation on release date.
BMW isn't handling this very well....

Also;
It seems silly that you have your car at port & they don't even have the web site configurator up yet.

TitoSkulls, I have been told by my CA that none of the cars will be released or available until March 22nd. The cars for their dealership are being held in Halifax.
How did you get your shipping info? I assume you have received your VIN as well? How long ago did you get it?

If you have a VIN, you can track your car via the shipping companies website, just enter the VIN number in the Auto Cargo section of shipment tracking.

Basically, my dealer had pre-ordered a certain number of 1ers a soon as they were provided with their allocation. They had one left that hadn't been spoken for. I put my deposit down in mid January and they already had the Prod. # and VIN. It was a January production car.

March 22nd eh, that sucks!

I heard the same thing and was told I'd be driving it home on April 15 (time taken to get from Halifax port to here).

Thanx for the shipping information. I have my prodution # but I guess I'll just have to wait for my VIN. I ordered at the end of January and was told mid April for delivery so I won't be too far behind.

Are you referring to the car parked behind the black truck? Sweet, already christened with its first snowfall!

Wow that is early. I don't even have my VIN yet. I know Calgary BMW did the same thing (pre-ordered a few slots) and it's supposed to get here mid April to early May.

But anyway, congrats!

So I talked to my SA today and asked what was happening with the release date. According to him, his computer is telling him that the status of the car is released to BMW Gallery and is enroute via CN rail. The cars of course wouldn't be released till March 22, but it sounds like they'll physically by Calgary at that time.

Go to the Customer Centre tab and click Cargo Tracking. Then click on Auto Cargo under Track By. Enter your VIN in the Cargo ID.

Interesting, that would certainly be good news.

I wonder if they will let a demo car get to the dealers earlier then March 22 and let them display it on the showroom? I figure they may do that because it will get BMW more orders for the cars. I'm sure lots of people are just waiting to see the car in real life before they put money down on one.

I'm one of those people. I won't get a chance to see the car at the Toronto show so I'm hoping to sit in one and possible drive one before ordering. I was told that the car would be "released" on March 22nd but they would have one in the show room before that date. Apparently I have to order in mid-March if I want it in June...does that make sense?

Yes that seems to be an accurate time line. I ordered at the end of January for a March build, April delivery.

=(

My VIN gives me "No tracking information is available for the Cargo ID you entered". And I ordered on Jan 24.

What does this mean? Does it mean it's Halifax bound? Or has it arrived in Halifax?
