It's interesting that Autocar would go ahead and call it the new M1 instead of the new 1M.

Rather have the current M135i hatch(even though it's not a 'real' M car.
Also, I would never buy a front drive M car. Call me old fashioned.

Very juicy. Just don't mess around with any foolish FWD ideas. That would be a shame.

other FWD cars will be built on the same platform. The 1 ( now 2 series) will be RWD. A 4 dr is definitely needed in my opinion.. and a 4 dr baby M would be a like a new E36 M3/4 in size, weight, and power likely.. BRING IT! |

+1. I'm totally with you Metak, but part of me wonders IF bmw might play the xDrive card with the new M2. THAT(AWD xDrive)would be mind blowing for a M-car.

Is this a reputable magazine? No disrespect to our UK brethren, but some of their rags are as bad as ours when it comes to sensationalism and speculation for the sake of sales.
As to a 4 cylinder or a FWD...meh...I'm sticking with my 1M. |

4cylinders, FWD: Great rumors for those of us owning a 1m :-)
Prices of our 6309 babies should not drop too much... A 4-cylinder engine appears plausible. However, i am not trusting at all the fwd story, at least for the current f20 series. |

That is a dynamite render. I love the idea of a four door small M car.
The only things I would change: 1. Connect the headlights to the grill like the F30 3 Series 2. Get rid of the 'winglet' that crosses the air intake in the front. Kind of like how the X5 has it and the X5M does not. X5 X5M Last edited by ///BYU; 12-06-2012 at 09:31 PM.. |
