David, after seeing this finish (Scarlett red is a custom order) I want to do it for my personal car! I really can't capture it photos but the finish looks AMAZING under sunlight.

Looking badass!
Hey, do either of you guys have your stock 135i exhaust with the black tips? I'm looking to make my quad with those black tips! I love them and it'll be perfect for my satin black wrap. |

Not a statement of blaspheme, I swear!!
Teaser First adventure with plastidip, I have to say that plastidip on a small object takes FOREVER to set. It's been about 4 hours since a light spray and the dip is still soft/liquidy. Edit: Going to redo this. Plastidip ruined the adhesive back on the lettering. Going to clean up the letters and try to get a better coat. Last edited by Venom; 03-24-2013 at 03:37 PM.. |

I don't know why yours is taking so long to dry, I plastidipped my kidney grills on a somewhat sunny day and three layers dried within the hour. Maybe it's just the highgloss surface.

Spray light and work on the distance of the can, practice on cardboard or something to get a feel for it. Do a light 2 first coats, then gradually get heavier, letting the dip dry 15 mins between coats. Looks like you sprayed a little heavy and it ran.
6-8 inches spraying distance usually works great for me. also make sure if its below 60 you heat up the can of plasti dip so it sprays evenly, under that temp it starts to clog up and not spray evenly.

The issue is that the emblem is small so a light spray will not cover the whole space. |

Use more distance then, for the lighter coats at least. Then you can always go heavier. the nice part with plasti dip is you can just add an additional coat to make it looks better, since the existing product turns wet again when it's resprayed. It's very forgiving once passed the learning process.
