And it will be built in red too!
Looks like GM wants to compete with the upcoming Toyota/Scion FRS and the Subaru BRZ. Not a bad idea if you ask me. The market for a lightweight, simple, affordable, RWD coupe has been lacking for some time.

It's not over simplified but perhaps beyond your intellectual grasp. A fully loaded M3 simply has a higher MSRP than the 1 M. For the general public they would agree that the higher priced M3 would have more value than the lower priced 1 M if they had $84,635 to spend and their choice of a 1 M or M3.

They have a frozen silver at Hendrick BMW of Charlotte right now. It's selling for around 82-84K (I can't remember). Looks badass, but everyone there says "don't ever let a bird $#!^ on your car"! haha. For $80k+?! No thanks.

Let's not fight over the details. I think we understand your point. You have to realize...us 1M folks are easily stereotyped, and we may be too proud of our "little" 1M's. But then again, we also see countless people come on the board asking for them. You asked, we provided the answer...truthfully. There are no further "new" or "virgin" 1M's to be had in the US. You'll have to find a demo or a used model, and expect a markup. Or, you'll have to go over to Europe to get one, but good luck getting it by emissions (although it has been done before). Depends on how bad you want one, I guess?

And lastly, to your point. I disagree somewhat (but not directly to your point about MSRP). Yes, an M3 has a higher MSRP. But here in the US, the 1M has better resale...and really...in the end...that's all that matters. Case in point.

It's actually amusing how you mix MSRPs and mark-ups however you want and throw in an insult or two to make a useless point.

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about and yet continue to insist you do.

Enjoy your trolling.

Call it what you will. I agree that we disagree. No big deal. It's a forum - God forbid we have different opinions.

That is, if you prefer the M3. To me an M3 is not worth the 55k that the 1M is worth, simply because it is not as special to me as the 1M is, and yes, I had a choice, and I picked the 1M.

Your opinion and "logic" are just as subjective as everyone else's.

Ill +1 that. I even picked my 135 over an M3

Inteed it does, but it looks scarily similar to the E82... Look at that beltline...

No doubt. The belt-line, flared rear fenders, and the whole upright 3-box design is similar in a less refined, in-you-face sort of way. I wonder how serious GM is with this concept. They are probably gauging interest in buyers who want a Camaro, but can't afford one.
