Bull! Most of these kind of roads are off the beaten path. That's why people seek them out. I understand there are people who legitimatly need to drive them daily. But that gives no excuse to the ass in the video. Or anybody who feels they need to control the speed of other drivers.

That said...

2) The Mazda3 was clearly playing with him and matching maneuvers with him, ie speeding up or slowing down in sync with the BMW. That can come off as very aggressive and if you're in the car in front you have no real way of telling if he is just playing around or if the driver behind you has negative intentions. What if it was a woman behind the wheel? Would you think some guy is following you? If you STOPPED and waved them by how do you know the guy isn't going to stop to and make things worse for you? For an example of how this feels from the driver’s perspective read this post from this very forum: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...5&postcount=67. Yeah the poster was probably being followed closer than the guy in this video but I think the idea is the same.

I think that as the audience we're aware of the Mazda driver's intentions (or at least how he can paint it since he's the owner of the video and is essentially writing history here) so it disarms us but as the Bimmer driver you wouldn't know and it would make me a little peeved too.

What I would do is actually slow down and use my BMW Assist/Bluetooth to call the cops and lead him right to them rather than stopping in the middle of the road and making things worse. But I see two bad drivers here, not one.
Call the cops, what a joke. I can here it now, (BMW GUY) some guy is following about 4 car lengths behind me. (COP) did you slow down or pull over to let him pass? (BMW GUY) No, (COP) pull over and let him go by. (BMW GUY) ok.

And where I live if there is a road rage incident like that the BMW guy is clearly at fault. Anytime you get out of your car and approach someone like that you are the aggressor and would be arrested. If you are in a road rage incident you are to call 911 and do what the dispatcher says. Also, the BMW guy could have got lead poisoning out of the deal, if you are in a position you can not escape from a threat you can use force to get out of the position you’re in.

So technically, if you were driving on a two lane road like that at the speed limit and there is traffic behind you also going the speed limit (matching your speed), wouldn't they be following you? If a driver wants to pass a slower car on a two lane road, they are going to be a couple of car lengths behind until there is an opportunity to pass or the slower car pulls to the side. That's how traffic works on a two lane road, which any driver in a slower vehicle should understand. It doesn't necessarily mean someone is following you, nor should it prompt a call to the police.

What?

That was NOT tailgating....at all....

Is someone supposed to be so far ahead of you that you can't see them?

Stop making excuses for the guy in the Mazda, he's an immature kid who should be following Bimmers on the track not on public streets. The guy in the BMW is a douchebag because he obviously thought he was superior to the other person and even berated him for driving a "shitbox". I see the meeting of two lamers in this video.
Couldn't shake them? I cannot believe people are acting like the dude in the mazda played any role in the altercation....If the 335 had decided he wanted to really try and get away, it would have been more apparent....the guy in the mazda didn't do anything...he could have made the situation a lot worse when the idiot in the BMW got out of the car....

Yeah that's all fine and good until you get robbed or attacked. Of course if he was flashing his lights and honking I'd pull over and let the guy go. If someone looked like he was FOLLOWING me which the Mazda was that'd be different.

He wasn't following anyone. The guy in the BMW pulled out in front of him, and was going the same direction.

WTF kind of logic is that? Do you call the cops everytime someone gets behind you on a back road?

Some of the responses in this thread are just completely abusrd. The guy in the BMW overeacted, and looks like a complete fool. There's ZERO justification for it.

There are a lot of douchey American BMW owners. Around here they're called $30,000 millionaires.

Old thread, but the title fits. Check out this road rage from a 1-series hatch:

(I'm convinced, nothing good ever comes from getting out of your car).

I hate the idea of someone tailgating in a "performance" situation since it adds danger to me and them, but at the same time this guy wasn't very close, and all the bmw driver had to do was pull over and let him pass lol. Idk why he was furious.

excuse my vulgar tone but that is joke. That Mazda isn't even close to the 335i. This cannot even be mistaken for tailgating, following, or anything. That BMW driver is a f*cking prick probably pissed that a Mazda is keep pace and that his car doesn't compensate for his small d*ck or lack of driving skill.
