PPK + FBO Dyno run

Hello All,

Just wanted to post the last dyno run on my 2012 135i. Mods are as follows:

BMW PPK (looking to get an aftermarket tune this year)
AA Sport Intercooler
ER Charge Pipe
AR Design 4" race Catted DP
Full Berk Street exhaust
Stock intake

Didnt have a chance to run a baseline stock dyno with just the PPK and none of the bolt ons, but here is the run done last week when the mids were put on.

This is at the wheels. Max Power: 329 Max Torque: 339

More proof that you don't see significant gains without a tune.

Those numbers were at the weels. Stock cars, at least from what I have been seeing on the forums are running around 270-280 HP at the wheels. So I am showing +50 HP from the PPK and the FBO parts.

Nice numbers but I think with what you've got $ invested...for 50hp? Wouldn't just a JB+ by itself on a complete stock car do about the same?

Pretty much. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at what a modest tune will net you.

Wanted to get a good base before the tune. Still on the fence between piggyback and flash. The JB4 looks pretty impressive.

I think a drop in filter could help I have read in other threads that in our cars the intake is efficient. the tune will give you the most gains. Good run.

Here is a link to a dyno sheet of a guy who done a before and after dyno of a stock PPK car. His numbers are lower than what you been seeing, but he still gained around 37 hp with the PPK.

Just to attest to what's being said, I put down 360 on Map 1 with a stage 2 JB4 without an FMIC upgrade.

Upgrade to the JB4 ISO, get some flex fuel wires, and you will be close to, if not at... 400.

I dont think there are many E85 filling stations in my area. Would be interested in the meth injection with the JB4. I think 400 HP is everyones goal on this forum. A little harder for the N55 guys to get there.

There are more than you would think, I will hunt down the link for the E85 Stations in your area. Pretty cool little site. E85 is extremely rare here in Germany due to the TUF laws. So I didn't think there was one any where near me, then a buddy found a site and it showed me there was one about 10 minutes away. Craziness.

You have a bit of an understatement at the end though..... more than "a little" harder. Pretty difficult actually. BUT, I will be there in another month!

The E85 link would be great.

I am not going to be disappointed if i dont get 400 HP out of a straight six......the car is plenty fast right now. I did get a ride in a 335 with an EVOtech tune (no bolt ons yet) and it pulled like crazy from down low. Definitely felt like it hit way earlier. That ride kinda changed my build plan.

I really like how smooth the power curve of the tune is. There's something to be said for that over raw numbers. Also did you get the ppk2 installed or just the 1? The added 2nd radiator and cooling of the ppk 2 are a huge benefit to making power run after run

It was only the PPK 1. I planned on doing a FMIC upgrade and wasnt sure how the extra fan would interfere. Rich, the owner of Dynocomp made a comment about how consistent it was. He did two set of 3 runs and it was as tight as you see in the graph above on each set. That FMIC was a huge plus. He also couldnt believe it made the power it did with the mods that were on it.

Either site, just go there and type in your Zip code. There were quite a few when I searched Scottsdale.

So what mix of E85 are you running? If you have to fill up with all premium (i only have 91 most places) and you cant access E85, do you have to switch maps.
