hey TXSTYLE - Not as good as I had hoped.

Story was very fragmented, acting was predictable and mechanical, no real twists....

I'm a huge fan of the bourne series, but this movie was extremely mediocre. Pretty disappointing. I think it's a 56% on RT. That's probably still a little bit generous. It's not the worst movie on earth. It's more like a 45% movie in my estimation.

ASBSECU E93 hit it spot on. Predictable, boring, linear, overly simplified story. But that shouldn't matter for an action film right? It should be all about the action. Unfortunately, the action in this movie was pretty tame as well.

Mission Impossible Rogue Nation for example had a similarly stupid story (maybe it was slightly more involved than jason bourne), but the action scenes were phenomenal, hence its 93% RT rating.

"You guys did it here in one fell swoop and I wish that could happen in my country, but it's such a personal issue for people that we cannot talk about it sensibly," Damon told The Sydney Morning Herald. "We just can't."
Damon was in town promoting the Australian premiere of his forthcoming film "Jason Bourne," the fifth in the franchise.
"People get so emotional that even when you make a suggestion about not selling AK47s to people on terror watch lists, that's a non-starter," the actor said. He added that he's not sure what it will take to end the violence.
"Obviously mass shootings aren't going to do it," he said. "There have been so many of them at this point. Sandy Hook, when those children were murdered, if that didn't do it, you know, I just don't know. Maybe we just need to evolve further before we can have that conversation, I don't know."

Thanks for the update guys. I had high hopes for this one since Damon was Bourne. It seems like a real missed opportunity. I will still see it but keep my expectations in check.

Watched it yesterday, disappointed. I love the Bourne franchise, and I would have watched the movie despite the above posts but I think this may have killed the series.

So I can usually tell if a movie is going to be as good as they try to advertise it or not by listening to the ads on radio.

For Jason Bourne the movie, they play the same stupid line in every ad "OMG it's Jason Bourne..." Then when you hear it again "OMG it's Jason Bourne..." OMG OMG OMG. Then Matt's voice comes on and goes "I know everything..." Just sounds freaking dumb.

To me it sounded like a high school girl saying it and had an inkling it's not going to be as good as the first 3 (the Jeremy Rainier one is stupid).

I am a huge fan of Damon (watched all of his movies thus far) but might actually skip this one.

I saw it yesterday and like it a lot. The addition of Alicia Vikander did it for me. She was amazing in Ex Machina and The Danish Girl. To me, she did not disappoint. See the movie yourself and see why

Haven't seen the new one, but I loved the original 3 Bourne novels by Robert Ludlum -- so the movies were always going to be a let down (even though I like Matt Damon).

Hmmmm... That's unfortunate. Not surprising though. I mean this is the 4th film of him in the series and that actually raises the bar IMO to improve upon the previous. I may wait til' video as there are several I have ahead of this: Star Trek (which I hear is even better than the first) and Lights Out.

When you have films like Mission Impossible, Jack Reacher, John Wick etc. You better come correct in this genre.
